Ecofective Slug Defence Barrier Granules are a great eco-friendly way to protect edible and ornamental plants from slug and snail damage They're safe to use around children, pets, wildlife and bees and are friendly to all other wildlife, including hedgehogs The slug granules work by creating a physical barrier around plants that deters slugs and snails from reaching the protected plants throughout the growing season Unlike clay based granules they do not degrade with rain. The naturally-derived ingredients do not turn spongy once wet; instead they dry out quickly and remain just as effective At the end of the growing season they may be dug into the soil to help with drainage.
